Mira Sorvino opens a new chapter for Frank Reagan in the final episode of Blue Bloods

I don’t like thinking about it, but we’re fast approaching Blue Bloods’ end.

With only six episodes to go, we’re a quarter of the way through the final batch of episodes, and Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 introduces a character who may be pivotal to the final story.

The good news is that this character is played by the legendary Mira Sorvino, and her scenes with Frank should be particularly interesting.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 Spoilers Reveal Who Mira Sorvino Plays

Sorvino plays Fire Commissioner Veronica Radley, which makes her role even more interesting.

It’s a police procedural trope that police officers and firefighters hate each other.

I’ve never understood it, but this rivalry appears in almost every police show I’ve ever watched, and the family once held their tongue when an eight-year-old Sean announced he was going to join the fire department when he grew up.

Frank is a man of integrity, but will he be biased against the Fire Commissioner because of this rivalry?

According to Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 spoilers, Frank’s beef with the Fire Commissioner has to do with the way she’s treating the mayor, which is a surprising development considering Frank’s general opinion of his boss.

However, Frank showed compassion to Mayor Chase during Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12, and he generally stands up for what’s right even if he has a personal problem with someone being mistreated.

How Sorvino’s Character May Play Into The Series Finale

The Fire Commissioner is supposed to appear in several episodes, which means this is likely an ongoing arc.

While little information has been released about the series finale, it has been confirmed that Frank will go on a mission to protect Mayor Chase from people who are trying to harm him.

It’s not clear exactly what that means, but since Frank is standing up to the Fire Commissioner on Chase’s behalf, it’s like that this is the beginning of that final story.

One thing that it isn’t, however, is the start of a romance for Frank.

Tom Selleck has said that the one thing that disappoints him is that in all these years, Frank has rarely had a love interest, as he would have enjoyed playing Frank’s flirtatious side more often.

While these comments are directed toward the series as a whole, they suggest that there is no last-minute romance on the horizon for Frank.

That makes sense. Blue Bloods’ family relationships, including relationships with romantic partners, are important, but it’s not a soap opera.

Frank has always been a widower who has no interest in moving on years after his wife’s death, and it would be pointless to reverse that with only a few episodes left. Thus, his relationship with Radley will be strictly professional and not an enemies-to-lovers story.

Besides, if Blue Bloods was going to do that, they needed to bring back Bebe Neuwirth as Kelly Peterson.

Kelly had strong chemistry with Frank. They were equally matched as sparring partners, and the sparks that flew as a result could have easily ignited.

Unfortunately, Blue Bloods didn’t go in that direction.

Kelly left her job because of her feelings for Frank and hasn’t been seen since Blue Bloods Season 8 Episode 21, so it’s unlikely she’ll return for the finale.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 Spoilers Promise A Compelling Henry Story

For the past few years, Henry only got a full story during one or two episodes per season

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 spoilers say it’s his turn now. This might be his last big story, but if it is, it’s sure to be one of his best.

Erin is blindsided when she learns that Henry is testifying for the defense in a case she is prosecuting!

Not only will this test their strong grandfather-granddaughter bond, but may jeopardize Erin’s standing in the case.

Blue Bloods keeps things realistic, for the most part, and I doubt there’s a court in New York that would allow a district attorney to cross-examine her grandfather.

That’s doubly true when Erin’s boss is Kimberly Crawford, who has always found Erin annoying and didn’t appreciate Erin undermining her during Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 12.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 spoilers also feature a photo of Erin and Henry laughing together, so the conflict between them will likely be as short-lived as all the times that Erin has butted heads with Frank.

The family often has a policy of leaving conflicts at the door during the Reagan family dinners, which is one of the best things about this show, so hopefully, Erin and Henry will make up before saying Grace.

I’m glad to see Henry is active, though. I’ve been worried about him because both of the last two episodes have featured references to his death.

It would be an incredibly disappointing ending for Blue Bloods if Henry passes away before the series finale, so hopefully, this episode will put those fears to rest.

Danny and Baez’s Case Connects To A Cause Mira Sorvino Is Passionate About

Mira Sorvino has been passionate about social justice since before she became an actress and has worked with Amnesty International to stop violence against women.

This led to one of the causes she is most vocal about stopping: human trafficking.

Blue Bloods has also featured this issue in stories, most recently with Jamie’s undercover arc that began with Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 1, in which he infiltrated a sex trafficking ring in the hopes of arresting the perpetrators and saving the victims.

Sorvino’s first episode also features a similar story, this time with Danny and Baez, as the two discover burned human remains in a warehouse and suspect these are murdered trafficking victims.

Blue Bloods doesn’t delve as deeply into the victims’ trauma as Law & Order: SVU would, but it always takes this issue seriously, and Danny and Baez will undoubtedly do everything they can to find out who these people were and why they were left to die in a warehouse.

Eddie Is Back With a Compelling New Case

If you missed Eddie on Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13, there’s good news: she and Badillo are back with a complicated case.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 spoilers say that Eddie and Badillo’s arrest of a perpetrator is complicated when they learn the suspect is dying of kidney cancer.

Spoiler photos also have them staring nervously up at a bridge, suggesting that they will have to stop someone from jumping.

I’m not sure what the suspect’s kidney cancer has to do with whether they deserve to be arrested, but the two will probably again clash with Sergeant McNichols over it.

Eddie fits in perfectly with the Reagan family because she is not afraid to stand up to her superiors when she feels that an injustice is being done, and Badillo often takes the opposite perspective from her.

This will make for interesting drama!
