The Night Court Season 3 finale just dropped a twist bigger than Sheldon Cooper’s ego — and Young Sheldon star Raegan Revord was right in the middle of the madness.
The hour-long finale, which aired May 6 on NBC, was full of nostalgia, legendary guest stars, and one jaw-dropping Big Bang Theory mic drop. But before Simon Helberg showed up to throw a literal ring into Abby’s engagement plans, another familiar face from the Big Bang universe came crashing into court — and her name was Shelby, a teenage runaway with a big heart, questionable decision-making skills, and a soft spot for impulsive marriage proposals.
Played by Revord (aka Missy Cooper), Shelby stole scenes — and hearts — with her chaotic yet heartfelt storyline. “She’s so set on marrying this guy she thinks is her soulmate,” Raegan told Celeb Secrets in our exclusive interview. “But then she has some self-reflective moments and starts to question everything. It was just such a fun role.”
And fun it was. From bold declarations of love to courtroom meltdowns, Shelby’s character paid homage to a classic Night Court moment featuring Michael J. Fox — and Raegan did her homework. “I knew it was a really special episode, and I wanted to get it right,” she said. “I researched the original series and asked so many questions on set. I just wanted to honor that legacy.”

Legacy was a running theme throughout the finale, especially when Big Bang fans got hit with the ultimate surprise: Simon Helberg’s character, Spencer, turning out to be Abby’s HUSBAND?! The stunned silence from Jake (Ryan Hansen) and Dan (John Larroquette) said it all — and so did Spencer’s smug kiss and ring flash. Bernadette and Howard, back on our screens? We were not emotionally prepared.
But while the internet is collectively spiraling over that twist, Raegan says working alongside TV legends was just as surreal. “John Larroquette was intimidating at first — he’s an icon,” she shared. “But he’s actually a big softie. We talked about Billie Eilish for like an hour!”
