Having played “mother of Dragons” Daenerys Targaryen since her first appearance on film in 2011, Emilia Clarke couldn’t help but feel the pressure as she prepared to film her final scenes. The actress shared with Elle Australia: “Oh my God, I can’t sleep.”
The British actress set higher expectations than last season even though she admitted it made her nervous. She added: “No, I have to research (the role) more! Basically, I don’t want to disappoint everyone.”
Participating in Game of Thrones, the 30-year-old star often had to show off her body in front of the camera lens as a “Dragon mother”, many scenes without a single piece of clothing. But when the show was criticized for its frequency of nudity, the crew and Emilia Clarke still believed that those sensitive scenes were necessary.

Even when filming a sex scene with the character Daario Naharis (played by Michiel Huisman) in season 4, she exclaimed: “It’s great. I actually went to David Benioff and Dan Weiss (the two Game of Thrones co-creators) to thank them. That seems to be the scene I’ve been waiting for for so long. Because I have a lot to do in the nude and sex scenes.”
Back to the movie, in the latest developments revealed in Game of Thrones season 7, one of Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons – Viserion – died. When talking about this milestone, Emilia Clarke shared with EW: “It’s so heartbreaking!”. Viserion’s death makes defeating his rival Army of the Dead even more urgent. “My dragon cannot die in vain, so this is an extremely important moment. This is the first time you’ve seen her (Dragon mother’s) defense broken.”
The final episodes of Game Of Thrones season 7 are currently continuing to attract great attention from the audience and no one can predict how the big battle will end.
