Move Over SEAL Team — Chris Pratt’s The Terminal List: Dark Wolf Is the Military Thriller You Need Right Now

Like SEAL Team, this new series takes a deep dive into the behind-the-scenes special operations and methodologies of the elite and revered Navy SEALs. SEAL Team & The Terminal List: Dark Wolf Both Follow Fictionalized US Navy SEAL Teams

Fans of SEAL Team will certainly enjoy The Terminal List: Dark Wolf for its similar narrative focus and character journey, representing one of the most elite squads in the entire American military. Kitsch plays Ben Edwards alongside Chris Pratt, who reprised his role from The Terminal List as Commander James Reece.

As of September 10, 2025, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has already released five of its seven episodes, making now the perfect time to dive into the series ahead of its finale on September 24. The first episode, in particular, follows previously unknown developments of Ben and Reece’s time on active duty in 2015, stationed in Iraq.

Admittedly, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf develops into more of a globe-trotting action spy thriller than a full-blown war series. It’s very similar in scope and style to Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed Paramount+ series Lioness, which also makes for a fantastic binge-watch.

The Terminal List famously depicted instances of PTSD and psychosis related to military veterans, which didn’t necessarily represent the realities of such conditions, but did at least raise awareness of them. Dark Wolf takes on some of those psychological themes as well as moral stances against the military’s non-negotiable chain of command.

How The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’s Military Accuracy Compares To SEAL Team

Part of what makes SEAL Team so engaging over the course of 114 episodes is how authentic the series is, following the lives of elite Navy SEALs who train for and carry out covert military missions. Dark Wolf carries a small degree of accuracy in its design, particularly with its realistic and riveting action sequences that include gunfights and hand-to-hand combat.

That said, one of the central themes in Dark Wolf is how two of its main characters, Ben and Raife, stray away from the line of duty to take matters into their own hands. In this way, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is more like a combination of SEAL Team and another fantastic action thriller on Prime Video, Reacher, which makes for pretty outstanding armed forces-inspired television.
