NBC has unexpectedly dropped four major fan-favorite shows in a surprising move amid big changes ahead for the network’s primetime lineup, leaving viewers disappointed
It’s a disappointing time for TV fans, as several popular shows are officially coming to an end.
NBC has made a wave of cancellation announcements and unfortunately, some fan favorites didn’t make the cut. Amid the cancellations is a spin-off series that has been shelved.
Viewers will have to say goodbye to more than a few familiar titles as the network reshuffles its lineup. On May 9, NBC confirmed that both Night Court and Lopez vs. Lopez will not return, each ending after three seasons. The cancellations didn’t stop there – Found, The Irrational and Suits: L.A. have all also been officially axed. It came as a Netflix star delivered a brutal 5-word verdict as four huge shows were axed from the streaming service.
Suits: LA premiered on February 23, 2025. The legal drama stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who relocates to Los Angeles to join a high-profile law firm.
Despite appearances from original Suits cast members like Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman, the series struggled with ratings. The show has been officially canceled after just one season, ahead of its May 18 finale, which will still air as scheduled.
NBC’s Night Court revival featured Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) as Abby Stone, a judge following in the footsteps of her late father, Harry Stone, by presiding over the same quirky night shift courtroom in New York City.
John Larroquette returned as fan-favorite Dan Fielding, with support from Lacretta as the outspoken bailiff Gurgs, Nyambi Nyambi as the diligent clerk Wyatt and Wendie Malick in a recurring role.
Meanwhile, Lopez vs. Lopez came to an end just three months after what turned out to be its final episode aired on February 7, 2025, wrapping up its third and final season.
Also on the list is the gripping drama Found. It centered on a team dedicated to locating missing persons overlooked by mainstream media and was officially canceled this month after two seasons. Another series that will be missed is NBC’s The Irrational, which also came to an end after two seasons.
While these shows have been canceled, NBC has also confirmed a number of renewals, including fan favorites Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med.
Joining them are Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, the upcoming comedy Happy’s Place and the new sitcom St. Denis Medical.
