NBC Scores Big With NBA Return and Comedy Revamp in Bold 2025 Fall Lineup Reveal

NBC has unveiled its Fall TV lineup, which includes the launch of NBA on NBC, as well as brand new comedy programming and a Jimmy Fallon-led reality competition series

This year’s NBCUniversal upfront presentation unveiled the network’s advertising programming lineup for the 2025-2026 season after plenty of viewer anticipation.

Earlier this month, the network announced it canned five shows, including Suits LA, Found, Night Court, The Irrational, and Lopez vs. Lopez, to make room for new programming on its upcoming fall schedule. NBC mainstays Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU were both renewed for the 2025-2026 season after a combined 50 seasons on air.

Bravo, E!, SYFY, Telemundo, USA, and various NBC affiliate stations are under the NBCUniversal umbrella. The network will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026.

NBC will take over almost 40% of live-event viewership, adding Super Bowl LX, The FIFA World Cup, the Winter Olympics, and the launch of the NBA on NBC and on its streaming service, Peacock. Those events will be added to an exclusive lineup that includes Sunday Night Football, the Kentucky Derby, the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Rockefeller Center tree-lighting ceremony during the Holidays.

Law & Order: SVU will return for its 26th season

A brand new comedy series, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, has been added to the fall lineup. The series, which stars Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe, follows a “disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image,” according to the network. 30 Rock creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock will executive produce the series.

The network also greenlit the pilots for Stumble and an untitled project from writer-producer Sierra Teller Ornelas. If picked up, they could be added to the upcoming fall schedule. St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place have been renewed as part of NBC’s comedy lineup as a part of new Monday and Friday comedy hour slots respectively.

Brilliant Minds and The Hunting Party have also been renewed, and the Chicago Wednesday lineup of Chicago Med, Fire, and P.D. is also returning.

A new reality competition series, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, will air in the fall. The Tonight Show host will start a premier marketing agency and fill it with “the most creative, clever and competitive go-getters he can find.” The four-time Emmy-winning musical competition series The Voice returns for its 28th season, with coaches Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg joined by country music legend Reba McEntire and One Direction star Niall Horan.

Surviving Earth, a limited unscripted special event series from the creators of Walking with Dinosaurs and Primeval, will premiere in the fall. The eight-episode series will dive into prehistory to reconstruct and learn from past mass extinction events.
