Sean Murray as Timothy McGee

Sean Murray, who has been on the series since its inception in 2003, is set to make a return as Special Agent Timothy McGee in Season 23. Murray confirmed his return in a post, writing, “NEW SEASON of #NCIS coming to you this fall :)”
Murray spoke about how the show has continued on for years and why it’s lasted this long.
“Even though we’ve been around 22 years, the show has gone through different iterations, it has felt like different shows…The show, the style has changed and evolved as we’ve gone on,” Murray said.
Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres

Wilmer Valderrama, who joined the cast for Season 14 in 2016 as Special Agent Nick Torres, will be returning.
“Reporting live from the set of #NCIS… ready for Season 23? 👀” Valderrama wrote on Instagram, confirming his return.
Katrina Law as Jessica Knight

She’s been an NCIS cast member since Season 18 and Katrina Law is set to continue with her starring role as Jessica Knight. Law shared a cast selfie writing, “NCIS SEASON 23!!!!! Let’s gooooooooo!!!!”
Gary Cole as Alden Parker

Gary Cole joined the cast in Season 19 as Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker and he is set to return for the 23rd season. After the murder of his father in the Season 22 finale, Cole’s character is being set up for a major revenge plot.
“I think there’s every possibility that he will go beyond protocol and what’s acceptable inside law enforcement to exact revenge,” Cole said about what to expect for season 23. “I’m not saying that’s what will happen, but I think the character is certainly capable of that.”
Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer

Dietzen, who joined the cast late in Season 1, will be returning to reprise his role as Jimmy Palmer. The actor shared a photo of his iconic glasses with the caption, “I’m putting these on my face now. Hello Jimmy Palmer. Hello NCIS. Hello Season 23. And hello Tuesday nights at 8/9c on CBS! We are so back.”
Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines

Forensic scientist Kasie Hines will be returning for the new year of episodes. The actress initially joined the series in Season 15 for just a few episodes, becoming a part of the crew permanently in the 16th season.
Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance

In Season 5, Rocky Carroll joined the cast of NCIS as Director Leon Vance. Carroll will be reprising his role in the upcoming year. The actor shared his thoughts about why he believes the show has lasted for so long.
“I think that part of the reason is because people come to work, and they’re, like, ‘Hey, let’s make another episode,’ with the same energy that they had 15, 20 seasons ago,” Carroll said in 2024.
