The cast of NCIS: Hawaiʻi have shared a bittersweet reunion following the show’s cancellation.
Vanessa Lachey — who made history as the franchise’s first female Special Agent-in-Charge — shared a group photo on Instagram alongside several co-stars.
The sunlit photo also features Tori Anderson (who played Kate Whistler) and her partner Mitch Myers, Jason Antoon (who played Ernie Malik), Seana Kofoed (who played Dr Carla Chase), Noah Mills (who played Jesse Boone), and Vanessa’s husband (and Love Is Blind co-host) Nick Lachey.
“We ❤️ U Hawai’i’… We really REALLY LOVE you,” Vanessa wrote in her caption.
The unfortunate news broke in late April that CBS was cancelling the NCIS spinoff series after three seasons.
Vanessa was among multiple NCIS: Hawaiʻi cast members to share their disappointment with CBS’ decision.
“This show meant so much to me… and more every day I find, to lots of people. As an AAPI Woman, Wife, Mother, Colleague & Friend, I am more proud than ever to have been your Jane Tennant on TV,” she wrote on Instagram.
“This journey has taught me to continue to push the envelope and break glass ceilings. I encourage you ALL to as well! Anything we dream is ours for the taking, no matter what the circumstance! A Hui Hou.”
While NCIS: Hawai’i has come to an end, the main NCIS series has been renewed for a 22nd season — and there are multiple spinoffs in the works, too.
Original NCIS cast member Mark Harmon is returning to produce and narrate NCIS: Origins, about the early years of his character Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva will bring back Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo as their iconic characters, while a second season of NCIS: Sydney has been ordered as well.
