Amid all the cancellation news concerning a 3-season television run of NCIS: Hawai’i, fans are more than ready to strike back to bring their favorite show back to the screens. Following the suit of So Help Me Todd ’s fans, those who were keeping an eye on the NCIS’ spinoff all along created a whole new petition and even got some support from the show’ main cast.
Though some more previous similar attempts did work out for other series that were eventually brought back, the same happening to NCIS: Hawai’i remains a very implausible option, yet the creators still might come up with a plot twist that will be just fine for both spinoff and original show.
NCIS’ season 21 finale has recently made a big revelation about Jessica Knight’s career boost in the upcoming season 22. The latest episodes showed Knight saying “Hell yeah” to Director Leon Vance’s offer to become chief training officer at Camp Pendleton implying that the character will inevitably depart from the Major Case Response Team (MCRT) to work on the other side of the country.
While it’s still unclear whether Jessica Knight will leave the entire show for good or not, the vacant position that she leaves in the MCRT may actually be a great opportunity for the show universe’s already existing character.
As NCIS keeps thriving, setting new plot twists for the upcoming season 22, its spinoff NCIS: Hawai’i isn’t having its best time. The show has been canceled after the third season, the finale of which gave fans a major cliffhanger for the series’ next installment to explain.
Now that there’s no way for NCIS: Hawai’i to actually unveil the whole mystery, its main character may still have a chance to stay on the screen. The spinoff’s last episode proved there was some big news coming in Jane Tennant’s way, but nothing about it was revealed later on.
Given how well this option fits in both series’ finales, Jessica Knight’s position at the MCRT can be easily taken over by NCIS: Hawai’i’s Jane Tenant who could potentially receive good news about her promotion by the end of the show’s final season.
While there’s still nothing to say about how CBS will handle the whole cliffhanger problem, this plot twist remains a much better solution than bringing in a new character to the original show and letting the mystery stay like it is in the spinoff.
