NCIS LA: Callen drops Hetty return hint in wedding day teaser: ‘Out of hiding’

NCIS: Los Angeles agent G Callen will be dropping a huge hint that his missing boss, Hetty Lange, could be making a miraculous return before the current season ends.

Special Agent G Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) is still struggling to make plans for his forthcoming wedding to Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) in a brand new sneak peek at this week’s episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. Although the big day is fast approaching in season 14 of the hit CBS series, fans are still wondering if long-running Operations Manager Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) will be able to attend once she’s recovered from her latest mission.

Hetty could be about to make her long-awaited comeback to NCIS: LA following a tantalising teaser from Callen.Linda Hunt as Hetty Lange

The agent has finally made the decision to get engaged to his girlfriend Anna, though a new clip reveals his partner Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) is annoyed at his lack of preparation.

An amusing conversation between the pair in this Sunday’s episode, Glory of the Sea, will see Callen admitting he still hasn’t got a new suit tailored for the ceremony.

“I don’t need your guy,” Callen insists, to which Sam replies: “Trust me you do

“I’m not going to be standing up there with a sad-looking groom.”

Callen waves off Hanna’s advice, but his partner insists he shouldn’t be walking down the aisle wearing one of the suits he’s donned in the field.

Hanna warns him his tailor is used to a “certain kind of clientele”, to which Callen asks what he means.

“The kind that doesn’t walk down the aisle with a suit full of bullet holes,” Sam teases.

Callen assures him he’ll get the suit dry-cleaned twice to ensure the fabric is free from blood stains and gunpowder.

However, Hanna warns him: “Hetty’ll kill you if you do that.”

To which Callen retorts: “Well, she’d have to come out of hiding first.”Gerald McRaney and Chris O'Donnell

Could this be a hint that Hetty will return to whip Callen into shape ahead of his nuptials?

Recent seasons of NCIS: LA have seen main cast member Linda taking on a reduced role, partly due to the dangers of COVID-19

She has since made sporadic appearances, but a recent and shocking revelation has suggested it may still be some time before she makes it back to HQ.

Earlier this season, both Callen and his current superior Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) were led to believe Hetty had been killed in action.

The remains of a small woman had been found by other NCIS operatives in Syria, though they later discovered their old boss had faked her death to escape enemy insurgents.

“Human remains of several individuals were found inside [an abandoned school]. They were burned beyond recognition,” an officer revealed to Callen.

“But one of the bodies had documents identifying them as an American female named Trudy Chambers

Callen assumed the remains belonged to Hetty, as Trudy was an alias used by his former OM earlier in the series.

Thankfully, they later discover Hetty had faked her death by planting her ID on the remains of a child who had tragically died in the incident.Linda Hunt and Chris O'Donnell

The team still hasn’t seen any sign of her whereabouts since, but fans are still hoping for her triumphant return by the end of season 14.

Hanna referencing her in the upcoming episode could be a promising sign their old boss will eventually return just in time to see Callen and Anna tie the knot.
