NCIS: LOS ANGELES has returned after a midseason break over the festive period. But do you remember the life-changing events Agent Kensi Blye went through and who is the mole in NCIS LA?
NCIS: LA aired its 13th episode in season 11 on CBS entitled High Society. The team once again had to track down another bad guy while dealing with their own personal problems. The job put one of NCIS’ leading agents in great danger just a few years back and could have been the last we saw of Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruth).
What happened to Kensi Blye in NCIS: LA?
NCIS: LA is now in its 11th season but series eight was the toughest by far for Kensi as well as Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).
In the second episode Belly of the Beast, the team travels to Syria to capture a terrorist but their mission is aborted when their aeroplane is shot down.
In the wreckage, Kensi gets stuck inside the nose of the plane and goes into a coma.
Following the incident, she is diagnosed with a serious spinal injury which means there’s a limited chance of recovery
Unable to work alongside her fellow NCIS team mates, Kensi has to focus on getting better.
She spends months in physical therapy to try and get herself back to full health and thankfully, she is able to eventually return to work.
However, this is not the end of her suffering by any means.
In episode 14 Under Siege, Kensi is kidnapped by a man she met in physical therapy
The kidnapper was CIA officer Ferris, who introduced himself as Sullivan (Kurt Yaeger) to Kensi.
He was seeking revenge as she was the one who shot off his leg while she was a sniper in Afghanistan.
She meets him during physical therapy but in episode 14 when she bumps into him, he tazes her and puts her in a wheelchair.
She apologises to him but he refuses to listen to her for long.
By the end of episode 14, she is screaming as he goes to her with an electric saw as he intended to return the favour.
She manages to knock him down but the pair are fighting on the ground with a saw still in his hand.
Thankfully, the team are able to locate them and Deeks storms in and shoots Sullivan in the head.
He carries her out of the house, relieved she is alright and admits he was scared.
The couple have a happy ending though by the end of the season.
She ends up proposing to him and of course, Deeks says yes.
