NCIS LA season 13: Deeks and Kensi to adopt newcomer after key parenthood clue?
NCIS LOS ANGELES agents Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks are still in the process of adopting their first child, but thankfully their parenting dreams could be coming true sooner rather than later.
The chances of NCIS Agent Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) getting pregnant are slim, but the adoption process for her and husband Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) has proven equally challenging. However, a clue in the latest episode of the CBS spin-off, NCIS: Los Angeles, has teased their search could be coming to an end.
The current run will be taking a break this week, before treating fans to a double-bill next episode.
Meanwhile, fans are still speculating what the agents and hopeful parents’ run-in with a young refugee could mean for the new season.
In episode eight, A Land of Wolves, the NCIS face off against a mysterious militia group whilst aiding a group of migrants across the US-Mexico border.
During their latest daring mission, Kensi and Deeks bond with a young girl named Rosa (Natalia Del Riego).
Once at home, Deeks confirmed Rosa would be processed at a federal intake facility and assigned to a case officer to help her search for living relatives.
However, a number of exchanges throughout the episode could be setting up Rosa as the couple’s new foster child.
After their first meeting, Rosa asks Kensi if she has children of her own.“I want to be,” the agent admitted, sadly.“Just haven’t been that lucky. Like you said, sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to.”
Their teammates Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and G Callen (Chris O’Donnell) eventually caught up to them, and Rosa was introduced to Kensi’s husband.
Deeks assured Rosa she would make it home safely, and his protective side leapt out again when they discussed her situation at home.
Kensi insisted: “Whatever happens, we can’t let her get sent back.“She’s got nowhere to go, she’s got no one to take care of her.”Deeks agreed and promised: “We’re not gonna let that happen. We’ll stay on top of it. I promise you.”
When NCIS: LA continues next week, Rosa could be staying with the agents, even for a temporary visit while her case officers look for a more permanent home.
Unfortunately, the path to parenthood hasn’t been simple since Kensi and Deeks started talking about kids all the way back in season seven.
Fostering or even adopting Rosa could be the simplest solution, but there will undoubtedly be plenty more hurdles to overcome in the long road to start a family
