NCIS LA’s Daniela Ruah congratulated by co-star as she shares new role amid Kensi absence

NCIS LA star Daniela Ruah hasn’t been seen in the 14th season of the CBS drama for the past few episodes.

Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) will be back in the world of NCIS: Los Angeles in January as part of the CBS franchise’s historic three-way crossover but for the past few weeks, she’s been missing from the action. However, the NCIS LA star has now taken to social media to share her pride in a separate project coming to screens soon as she juggles work both on and away from the long-running crime series.NCIS Los Angeles, saison 9 (M6) : Callen, Sam, Kensi et Deeks sont-ils morts ?

Ruah may be familiar to viewers of NCIS LA as the lovable Kensi, in no small part thanks to her onscreen chemistry with onscreen husband Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) but she’s also no stranger to lending her talents behind the scenes.

The Kensi star has directed a number of NCIS LA episodes now and will even helm the 14th episode of season 14, titled Shame.

But Ruah hasn’t stopped there as she took to Instagram to share her excitement at the release of her new Portuguese-speaking project, Os Vivos, O Morto e o Peixe Frito.

Sharing her joy, Ruah penned alongside a trailer for the new movie: “The 2nd project I ever directed is airing soon (in Portugal) and I can finally share the trailer!

“I’m so proud of this movie, cast and crew,” she added before expressing her gratitude for the production companies behind it.

She signed off: “Thank you @ukbarfilmes and grateful for the kindness and hospitality of @torresvedrascm.”

Ruah doesn’t star in the movie but the cast boasts the likes of Igor Regalla, Soraia Tavares, Daniel Martinho, Mina Andala, Matamba Joaquim and Mauro Hermínio among others.NCIS: Los Angeles confirmed to be ending

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for Ruah’s fans to congratulate her, including some words of support from a few recognisable faces

NCIS LA star Medalion Rahimi, who plays Fatima in the CBS series, commented: “This looks incredible !!! Cant wait to see,” followed by a love-heart-eyed emoji.

Elsewhere, fan @ivana_d147 weighed in: “I am very proud of you no matter whatever you do in your life. Just know that I will always keep supporting. Congratulations Dani.”

And @brucemclean19570 echoed: “Congratulations director Dani. Your talents never cease to amaze me.”

While @learneuportuguese added: “Nice! Congratulations! My students who are learning Portuguese will enjoy this! We are always looking for good content in Portuguese to show you.”

And Instagram user @nat.cavalcanti simply added to the praise: “So proud of you and this amazing team.” (sic)NCIS Los Angeles season 10 cast: Who is in the cast of NCIS LA? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

When exactly the film will arrive in the UK or US remains unknown for now but Ruah’s clearly overjoyed it will be making its arrival in Portugal soon.

In the meantime, NCIS LA has headed on its winter hiatus following the action-packed Let It Burn.

On January 2, when Kensi returns, she’ll be joined by the likes of NCIS Hawaii’s Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and NCIS’s Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law).
