For those of you who are just joining, let us catch you up: Eric and Daniela play Marty Deeks and Kensi Blye on the CBS show, and their characters are about to tie the knot in what we can only imagine is the most epic wedding ever. In real life, Daniela is married to Eric’s brother, David Paul Olsen. Meaning that Eric, Eric’s wife Sarah, Daniela, and David are all family.
And, as it turns out, they’re a big happy one at that. When TV Insider caught up with the pair on set, they had a lot to say about each other.
Eric couldn’t stop gushing about how great David and Daniela are together. “I introduced her to my brother because they are wonderful human beings and I want them to be happy. It worked,” he said. “They have two amazing kids. And they’re great parents.”
Daniela echoed Eric’s sentiments. “I will go to Eric for any type of advice. Any subject. I can count on an honest opinion,” she said. Are these two cute or what?!
But it’s not all “sunshine and gunpowder” (as Kensi and Deeks would say) for the friends. They also apparently make jabs at each other both on and off the screen, and it all started when they first met.
“The first words I ever said to him were, ‘Hey, so I hear Deeks is supposed to be muscle-y and tan—what are you going to do about that?'” Daniela told the outet. Apparently Eric shot back with, “‘I heard Kensi was supposed to be intelligent and pretty, so what’re you doing about that?’”
Luckily neither of them ever “took offense.” Jokes aside, it seems the two are the picture of #WorkCoupleGoals and we can’t wait to see their characters tie the knot.
