This story contains spoilers for the series finale of NCIS: Los Angeles.
NCIS: Los Angeles may be no more, but it looks like one star has hopes to return to the franchise.
Viewers of the CBS drama know the series ended in May, after 14 seasons on the air. While the show wrapped up many of the storylines pertaining to its main leads, actress Daniela Ruah (who portrayed Special Agent Kensi Blye) opened up about whether she would ever make a comeback in any of the other shows bearing the NCIS name. When speaking to TVLine about the idea of reprising her role, she gave the outlet a candid answer.
“If I get asked, I will certainly figure it out at the time,” she told the outlet in July. “If it makes sense, why not, right?”
When folks last saw Daniela and her character on TV, they learned Kensi and her husband Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) were expecting a baby after struggling to get pregnant and adopting their daughter Rosa (Natalia Del Riego). Whether this plot would get explored on another NCIS drama, that’s to be determined. What’s more, fans have already seen one of the NCIS: Los Angeles actors announce their plans to move to another show within the franchise.
Shortly after the NCIS: Hawai’i season 2 finale aired in May, news broke that LL Cool J would reprise his character Sam Hanna in a recurring role for season 3. At the time, the series’ social team wrote on Instagram how exciting it was to see that their “ohana [was] growing.”
Although it’s unclear how the character will fully integrate with the island-based team led by Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey), this does infer that we may see others — like Daniela — pop up somewhere else.
Apart from concluding her time on NCIS: Los Angeles, Daniela continues to pursue other career projects. She announced her involvement in the Portuguese action series Turn of the Tide, which debuted on Netflix in late May. She also shared on Instagram that she completed hosting the Portuguese TV show Os Traidores, which translates to “Traitors” in English.
Now, this is the kind of news we’re thrilled to hear!
