Texas Ranching Drama Starring Josh Duhamel And Minka Kelly In The Works At Netflix
We have good news for impatient Yellowstone fans: Netflix is working on a juicy new contemporary western guaranteed to fill that Dutton family void in your life.
The streamer announced this week that it has ordered 10 episodes of Ransom Canyon, a drama series with Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly set to star.
Per the show’s official logline, “Ransom Canyon is a romance-fueled family drama and contemporary western saga that charts the intersecting lives of three ranching families, all set against the rugged expanse of Texas Hill Country.”
Duhamel will reportedly play Staten Kirkland, owner and sole occupant of the sprawling Double K Ranch. Described as “steadfast and stoic,” Staten leads the charge to resist outside forces “threatening his way of life and the land that he loves.”
Kelly, of Friday Night Lights fame, will star as Quinn. Her character has “often found herself in the shadow of others,” but after a stint in New York pursuing her career as a concert pianist, she has returned to the real-life Texas town of Ransom Canyon to carve out a new path for herself.
Kelly celebrated the announcement on Instagram Wednesday, writing that she “couldn’t be more excited to be a part” of the forthcoming show.
Ransom Canyon was created by April Blair who will also serve as executive producer. Ozark director Amanda Marsalis is attached to direct the first two episodes.
This is a developing story.
