Netflix will soon be launching its own Yellowstone replacement: First images look very similar to the Kevin Costner hit

Netflix will soon be launching the ideal Yellowstone replacement, which is reflected not only in the first images, but also in the plot of the Territory series.

If you don’t want to wait idly until November for Yellowstone to return, Netflix has already presented a series that, in its first images, looks like the ideal replacement for the popular neo-western series: Territory is in the starting blocks.

Territory: This is how similar the Netflix series Yellowstone is

Beautiful nature, a family business with a controversial successor, a piece of land that many have their eye on: No, we’re not talking about the Yellowstone series, which would fit this description just as well, but about Territory. Land ownership, home and legacy play a major role in both stories, and Netflix’s latest trick also fuses western atmosphere with modernity, as helicopters whiz over herds of cattle.

Unlike Yellowstone, Territory is not set in the USA, but in the Northern Territory of Australia. One of the largest cattle farms in the world is located in the inhospitable wilderness of the outback: Marianne Station. The model here was the real Anna Creek Station, which is as big as the country of Slovenia.

The Lawson family had previously run the cattle farm as a dynasty, but now there is no clear heir. So the power struggle begins not only within the generations and the family, but also with rivals from outside who are trying to take control of the billion-dollar business. Cow barons, desert gangsters, indigenous elders and rich mine owners are tightening the noose more and more.

Originally produced under the working title “Desert King”, the creators’ series has just been renamed Territory by Netflix, clearly setting its course: As in Yellowstone, the land (and the family fate linked to it) is the focus and must be defended at all costs. And by a large cast.

This is the cast of Netflix’s Territory Anna Torv (Mindhunter, The Last of us) as Emily Lawson Sam Corlett (Vikings: Valhalla, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Marshall Lawson Michael Dorman (For All Mankind, The Patriot) as Graham Lawson Robert Taylor (Longmire) as Colin Lawson Jake Ryan (The Great Gatsby) as Daniel Lawson Philippa Northeast (Standing up for Sunny) as Susie Lawson Sara Wiseman (Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom). ) as Sandra Kirby Joe Klocek (Children of Wrath) as Lachie Kirby Dan Wyllie (Chopper) as Hank Hodge Clarence Ryan (Furiosa) as Nolan Brannock Kylah Day (Itch) as Sharnie Kennedy Hamilton Morris (Sweet Country) as Uncle Bryce Tuuli Narkle (NCIS: Sydney) as Kelley Redford Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast, It 2) as Campbell Miller
When will the Yellowstone replacement Territory be released on Netflix?
Territory is set to come to Netflix in October 2024 with 6 episodes. The series is a month earlier than the start of the final episodes of Yellowstone Season 5.
