Get the latest scoop on Chicago Fire season 13 courtesy new reveals from showrunner Andrew Newman.
A new season of Chicago Fire is just a few short weeks away, but if you simply can’t wait for the new season to begin and are looking for some juicy teases about the upcoming season you are in luck!
With season 13 including closer, spoilers about the new season are starting to make their way online and TVLine has recently gifted fans with its preview of what’s to come this season via the site’s annual Fall TV Preview. This in-depth guide has offered up a wave of new teases from Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman regarding what’s to come for all of our favorite characters including the fallout that awaits us in the season ahead following the many season 12 cliffhangers.
Severide and Kidd: As expected, the news that Damon is his half-brother is going to shake things up for Severide with the promise that he has “some big decisions” to make in the fallout. Among them is his desire to start a family with Kidd which will leave Kidd to face some decisions about her future both “in terms of what next steps are in their relationship, in terms of work,” Newman teased. As a bonus tease, it’s also been hinted that Cruz is going to be concerned about Severide and Damon’s “growing closeness” due in part to the complicated history he shares with his brother, Leon.
Mouch and Herrmann: While Herrmann might not be getting the Chief position as we thought he would be given how the finale seemed to hint he would be taking over for Boden at 51, it does appear both Herrmann and Mouch will be moving ahead with their plans to rise through the ranks. Unfortunately, it seems that this is going to create some drama in their friendship along the way.
51’s New Chief: Speaking of Boden’s replacement, it seems that when Dermot Mulroney’s Chief Dom Pascal makes his debut in the premiere he’s going to come in quite hot with Newman teasing that he “makes it clear right from the start that he is not Chief Boden.” Could this hint that he simply wants to make sure the team knows he’s not there to replace Boden, or might it mean he’s going to run things differently? We’re going to have to wait to see it seems. It also appears that fans should expect to be surprised with who Chief Pascal gets along with and who finds themselves at odds with their new Chief.
Carver and Violet: Now that we know Carver will indeed be back, it seems we can expect the show to continue to unpack the ghosts of their pasts as Carver and Violet try to find a way forward in their relationship. As Newman has teased, both have “a lot to work out” so it might be rough roads ahead for the couple.
Ritter: Our last major tease for the upcoming season via Chicago Fire’s showrunner courtesy TVLine’s fall preview is that the show is finally promising to better utilize Ritter! As Newman promised, “This is a big, Ritter-heavy season. Ritter has a lot of changes coming his way.” We can only hope the show fulfills this promise as we’d love to see Ritter get some bigger storylines, and not be relegated to background stories!
