
Having someone who understands the law but is focused on getting justice is a good thing for Manny and Bode, and Renee is more invested in this than most lawyers would be. In the video below, she answers the legal questions anyone might have. Gabriela is present to advocate for her father and does not want him to do anything that might send him back to prison. Renee affirms that Oxalta cannot send Manny back to prison; only the DOC can. Yet it doesn’t feel convincing because Manny’s freedom resulted from the Oxalta deal. Either Renee or Sharon (Diane Farr) is lying.
While having Manny break his NDA is a step in the right direction, it’s not enough. Renee says they need the entire camp willing to break theirs if this is to go anywhere. Having many people willing to join Renee’s class action lawsuit will force Oxalta to settle, and that will be seen as an admission of guilt, inviting more scrutiny to the company’s dealings. However, Oxalta was not founded yesterday. Corporations have a way of protecting themselves, and as the camera pans outside in the video, a mysterious figure is revealed to have been watching the secret meeting. They have eyes and ears everywhere.
