New Netflix Trailer Shows Yerin Ha’s Sophie Confronting Benedict Over His Hurtful Offer md18

The season’s final episodes premiere Feb. 26 on Netflix.

Can true love conquer class conflict? The trailer for the second half of Bridgerton Season 4 just dropped, and it proves that things get way more complicated after Benedict confesses his feelings for Sophie.

The first half of Season 4 is centered on Benedict (Luke Thompson) seeking out the “lady in silver,” a masked woman whom he fell for at a masquerade ball. What Benedict didn’t know was that this woman was Sophie (Yerin Ha), who works as a maid and, therefore, would be an ineligible match. That, however, did not stop Benedict from catching feelings for Sophie, who now works in the Bridgerton household.

The Regency drama left off with Benedict asking Sophie to be his mistress — a proposition she was insulted by. Per the trailer, the second part of the season, which contains four episodes, opens with the two on tense terms. Sophie reminds Benedict that his proposed role is the last thing she would ever want. But Benedict pushes back: How can he be with Sophie otherwise, when society has made it impossible?

“You hurt me,” Sophie says. “When do you stop to think about me?”

“Every minute of every day,” Benedict replies. “I cannot love a maid. And yet you have taken possession of me.”

Of course, Benedict and Sophie can only stay apart for so long. The trailer teases moments of intimacy, including Benedict reaching to hold Sophie’s hand, Sophie pulling off Benedict’s shirt and the two finally embracing in a kiss.

But while Bridgerton’s seasons tend to end happily-ever-after for the titular family members, there will likely be obstacles for these characters on their way to true love. As Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) warns Benedict, “There is one sacrifice you will have to make. Your family.”

The trailer also features brief scenes with other Bridgerton characters, such as Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and, of course, Lady Whistledown, Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).
