Next Game Of Thrones Spinoff Finds Its 2 Lead Stars
The upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has found the lead stars who will play Dunk and Egg.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has cast its leads. The upcoming HBO show is the latest spinoff in the universe of their hit fantasy property Game of Thrones, based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R. R. Martin. It will be based on the Martin novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg, which follows the younger years of Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Duncan the Tall (“Dunk”) and King Aegon V Targaryen (“Egg”).
HBO has now officially announced that the leads have been cast for the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight spinoff. Nine-year-old child actor Dexter Sol Ansell will be starring in the show as Egg. He will play the role opposite actor and former Connacht Rugby player Peter Claffey as Dunk.

The Future Dunk And Egg Are Both Known For Other Roles
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will provide both stars with their most prominent roles yet.
Despite being older, Claffey has fewer credits than Ansell due to his time as a rugby player. His onscreen career began in 2022 with single-episode television appearances on the shows Harry Wild and Bad Sisters. However, a sign of the actor being destined for more prominent projects came when he was cast in the lead role as Comac Kelly opposite Oscar Kennedy and Thaddea Graham in the British horror-comedy show Wreck. That show premiered in 2022 relatively quickly after his first-ever television role and is currently airing season 2, which is set to include on April 10.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will provide both stars with their most prominent roles yet. Playing Game of Thrones characters has provided a boost to quite a few performers throughout the 13 years since it went on the air, including Pedro Pascal, Peter Dinklage, Bella Ramsey, Jason Momoa, Richard Madden, and more. It seems highly likely that the new show will provide a similar recognition, especially considering that the previous spinoff, House of the Dragon, has also been popular on HBO.
