On August 1, in an interview with InStyle magazine, actress Jennifer Aniston said playing Rachel Green in the series Friends was the best time of her acting career.
The 49-year-old actress added: “I have not yet imagined what the script would be like if the movie were to continue, however, there are currently many TV series being remade and have been very successful.”
Launched in 1994 and ended in 2004 after 10 extremely successful seasons, Friends is considered by fans around the world as a monument to the sitcom genre and was the launching pad that brought Jennifer Aniston’s name to superstardom. The series revolves around the lives of a group of 6 friends in Manhattan, New York City.
The final episode of the series attracted 52.5 million American viewers to watch, becoming the most watched episode of the 2000s and one of the most viewed finales in television history.
With the success of the film, the reunion of the Friends stars could be the trigger for the return of a series of other sitcoms in the 90s.
However, according to Jennifer, actor Matt LeBlanc (playing Joey Tribbiani) doesn’t seem to want this reunion. “I know Matt LeBlanc doesn’t like to bring up questions about Friends anymore, but we’ll try to convince him,” the Emmy-winning actress said.
