The final season of SEAL Team is coming, and with it come the questions about how exactly all the main storylines will end. Ahead of the Season 7 premiere, star David Boreanaz teased that not all stories will end with a happy ever after. But does that mean we can expect a tragic ending for Jason Hayes in the final season of SEAL Team?
Does Jason Hayes Die in SEAL Team Season 7?
Boreanaz didn’t go as far as to promise Hayes would not get a happy ending in Season 7 of SEAL Team, but he did tell TVLine that “ultimately, he may be taken by the biggest force of all, and that’s death. That’s something we have to keep on the table and wanted to keep on the table.”
Before that, of course, Hayes will be back home for the first few episodes, which is also very different for him. Boreanaz teased. “The final hook to this circle for these operators is, “How do they deal with their kills?” how that traumatically impacted them both in the missions as well as when at home. So, for him to be kinda home the first few episodes, it’s going to be very traumatic, and that’s something he’ll have to lean into, in order to resolve this and let this go and heal himself.”
The story, of course, requires Hayes to go back to the battlefield. The show isn’t called SEAL Team for nothing. In regards to that, Boreanaz said that “how he gets back into the battlefield and what happens to him is going to be interesting.”
“Obviously the world keeps turning and evil presents itself in a place where these are needed, especially Bravo Team. They’ll be kicking operators for a couple of episodes — you’ll see some training that goes on as they patiently wait to be back, installed into their unit.
And it is a whole new evolution of war that is going on for them, and they’ve got to adapt or if not, be pushed aside — so that will be a big challenge for them.”
SEAL Team is Paramount+’s military drama series created by Benjamin Cavell. The show follows an elite unit of United States Navy SEALs called the Bravo Team, who undertakes the most dangerous missions worldwide.
The show aired on CBS for four seasons before moving to Paramount+. CBS announced in November 2023 that SEAL Team was concluded with season 7. The cast includes David Boreanaz, Jessica Paré, Neil Brown Jr., A. J. Buckley, and Toni Trucks, with Max Thieriot formerly starring.
SEAL Team is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
