Nov. 28 Brings Disappointing ‘Boston Blue’ Update — But Viewers Saw It Coming Y01

One of the shows we’ve looked forward to in fall 2025 is Boston Blue. The Blue Bloods spinoff has continued the main show’s storylines while giving us fresh characters and new relationships developing. However, there is some bad news when it comes to the episodes tonight, Friday, Nov. 28.

This isn’t a regular Friday night. It’s the holiday weekend, and that means a lot of people are traveling or sleeping off the day before. There are few people tuning in for new episodes of top TV shows, and CBS — along with all other major networks — has decided on a break.

CBS won’t air a new episode of Boston Blue tonight, which, while disappointing, isn’t surprising. There is some great news when it comes to more episodes in 2025, though!

There’s more bad news tonight about Boston Blue

While there is the bad news of no new episodes, we usually get some reruns, right? Well, this is where there is more bad news. CBS won’t air a rerun of Boston Blue tonight. Instead, we’ll get A PAW Patrol Christmas movie special to kickstart the night, and then two Fire Country reruns.

However, you can turn to CBS on Saturday, Nov. 28. There will be a rerun of the Halloween episode at the slightly earlier time of 9/8c. This episode saw Lena and Danny work together when Lena’s former partner is pulled into the investigation. There was plenty of friction on a personal and professional level as they investigated a murder and went through a drug investigation.

Boston Blue will return with new episodes in 2025

There is some fear that the show will now be off the air for the rest of the year. That’s not the case. While NBC and ABC has opted for some early finales, such as with Chicago Fire and Grey’s Anatomy, that’s not the case for the CBS shows.

There will be at least two more episodes to come in 2025. The first new episode will air on Friday, Dec. 5, and it sees Danny in an unexpected role reversal as Lena focuses on pursuing justice. Meanwhile, there is more of Sean and Jonah working together, as their routine case isn’t as routine as it initially seemed to be. Chicago Fire’s Monica Raymund has directed this episode, so One Chicago and Hightown fans are sure to want to check it out.

Then there will be one more episode (at least) on Friday, Dec. 12. It’s unclear at the time of writing this if CBS will have another episode before Christmas, but we see this Dec. 12 episode as the fall finale.

Boston Blue is available to stream on Paramount+ to catch up on any episode you’ve missed.
