CBS has officially announced that Boston Blue, the highly anticipated spinoff of the long-running series Blue Bloods, will premiere this fall. The new series is set to air on Fridays at 10/9c, occupying the same time slot previously held by Blue Bloods .
Boston Blue follows Detective Danny Reagan, portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg, as he transitions from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department. In Boston, Reagan partners with Detective Lena Silver, played by Sonequa Martin-Green, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family in the city .
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with JBTV, with Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Donnie Wahlberg serving as executive producers. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, known for their work on The Blacklist, will serve as showrunners .
Fans of Blue Bloods can look forward to the continuation of the Reagan family’s legacy in a new setting, with the premiere of Boston Blue scheduled for this fall on CBS.
