One Chicago Finally Returns to Normal After Weeks of Schedule Chaos md18

Following a chaotic few weeks, NBC’s One Chicago franchise will finally return to their normal schedule on March 11 with a night of must-see new episodes.

It might have taken over a month, but NBC’s One Chicago lineup is finally returning to its regular schedule for the first time since February 4.

The new year has been off to an interesting start for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD fans, and that might be an understatement. Following their lengthy winter break, the shows returned at the top of the new year on January 7 and aired for five consecutive weeks before the shows were pulled from NBC’s schedule to make room for the Winter Olympics.

NBC’s coverage of the Milan Cortina Olympics kept Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD off the schedule entirely for two weeks. This was because NBC literally turns over its schedule to bring fans Olympic coverage; this leads to the preemption of daytime, primetime, and late-night programs.

We thought Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD would be back for a week of reruns on the final Wednesday of February once the Olympics wrapped. Then, NBC surprised fans by choosing to air an encore of The Voice season 29 premiere on February 25, with Chicago PD being the sole One Chicago show to have a rerun that night.

As March arrived, it brought with it the One Chicago crossover event, which meant new episodes of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD. However, due to the nature of the crossover, the shows aired out of order for the night, with Chicago Fire airing an hour earlier at 8 p.m. ET and Chicago Med airing an hour later at 9 p.m. ET.

After a month of scheduling shakeups, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD will finally return to their normal schedules this Wednesday night! We’ll get a new episode of Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET, followed by a new Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. ET, and finally a new Chicago PD at 10 p.m. ET. Thankfully, now that the shows are settling back into their normal time slots, we should see the schedule remain the same for the remainder of the season barring any unexpected last-minute changes.

Following the crossover, we’ll see things return to a more normal pacing, but fans should certainly expect some fallout from the “Reckoning” case to carry over into each show in various ways.

On Chicago Med, we’re certain Hannah’s actions during the crisis will lead her and Dean to have some conversations about trusting one another’s opinions more and remembering they’re in this together. Meanwhile, we’re eager to see how Novak’s brush with death will impact her relationship with Frost and whether the duo might try to give things a second try.

Over at Firehouse 51, Pascal is likely going to find himself in hot water, and his career in the CFD could be at risk after he was arrested for obstructing justice during the crisis. We also imagine 51 will be grieving the death of Macy, and each member of the firehouse will be dealing with the trauma they faced in responding to the horrific call in various ways.

Finally, Chicago PD will bring Ruzek back into the mix, which is sure to be a highlight of the night. We’ll also get to see if Voight faces any blowback after the crisis unearthed his questionable actions from the past. With Imani mentioning she had to give a reporter information on Voight’s involvement in the Heart of Chicago Fire, we imagine there could be fallout he’ll have to face if that information goes on the record.

March 11 promises to be a night of can’t-miss action for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD, and one that will thankfully bring a bit of stability now that the shows will be returning to their regular time slots!
