One Chicago fans will get the chance to see two stars of the franchise teaming up in a new and unexpected project.
It seems the world of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD are about to collide in an unexpected way!
Chicago Fire star Joe Minoso and former Chicago PD star Jon Seda are teaming up on a new movie currently filming in Chicago! The One Chicago stars will both appear in the new film Godshot, which shot this December in Chicago. News of their involvement in the project was confirmed via Instagram with the official Instagram account for the film sharing new behind the scenes photos of the duo.
Dressed casually in a hoodie and t-shirt, we see Minoso’s character bowing his head slightly, suggesting his character is in deep contemplation or carrying some sort of emotional weight.
Another shot from the film’s official Instagram, we get a glimpse of Seda as he laughs between takes with writer Sammy Horowitz on the set.
It’s unclear whether Seda and Minoso’s characters will share the screen together in the film, and just how large of a role they’ll each have in the project. We’re certainly hoping that they might have at least one scene together, as it’d be fun to see the pair back on-screen together after all these years.

While Seda is best known for his role on Chicago PD where he starred as Detective Antonio Dawson across the first six seasons of the show, fans sometimes forget his time in the One Chicago Universe began on Chicago Fire. We first met Antonio in the first season of Chicago Fire, and he played a major recurring role across those early episodes. When Chicago PD launched, he transitioned over to the show’s series regular cast and served as a bridge between the two shows for several years.
Fans continue to hope that Seda might return to the One Chicago franchise someday, and it would certainly be exciting to see Seda working as part of the Intelligence Unit once again. We’d love to see Antonio back on the Intelligence Unit in a full-time role, but it would be amazing just to see him back for an episode or two.
Antonio’s exit felt rushed and left us wanting more, so we’d love the opportunity to revisit the character. Perhaps returning to the Windy City to film Godshot and working on the project with Minoso will lead to Seda’s return to the One Chicago franchise!
As for Minoso, we’re excited to see what the upcoming episodes of Chicago Fire season 14 will hold for Cruz. Through the early episodes of the season, Cruz has played more of a background role, but we’re hoping he’ll get to step into the spotlight more as the season continues in 2026.
