“The Conners” has lost another family member.
Jayden Rey, who portrayed Dan Conner’s (John Goodman) granddaughter Mary on the sitcom, has exited ahead of Season 6.
According to Entertainment Weekly, however, she could return to being a guest star in the future.
Mary is the daughter of D.J. Conner (Michael Fishman) and Geena Williams-Conner (Maya Lynne Robinson).
Robinson left after the first season, while Fishman departed the ABC series at the end of Season 4 in 2021.
At his exit, Fishman, 42, released a statement: “It has been my honor to play D.J. Conner. Every actor dreams of being a series regular, especially on a groundbreaking show, where we tackle significant topics.”

The ABC sitcom premiered in 2018 as a spinoff of “Roseanne.” ABC

The actor’s character left the sitcom to see his wife overseas while Rey stayed with her grandfather. Rey only appeared in five episodes in the last season.

“The Conners” premiered in 2018 and is an offshoot of the rebooted “Roseanne” series from 1988 to 1997.

Maya Lynne Robinson and Michael Fishman played Mary’s parents Geena and D.J. on “The Conners.”
The reboot was briefly canceled after star Roseanne Barr went on a racist rant on Twitter (now known as X) at the time. After the controversy, “The Conners” was created.
The sequel series killed off Barr’s character and featured the daily lives of the grown-up Conner family.
Returning Season 6 stars include Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jay R. Ferguson, and Katey Sagal.
“The Conners” returns Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
