Ahead of his reported return to showbiz, it appears that Phillip Schofield has reached out to another TV presenter.
The 62 year old only returned to social media 15 days ago after a year-long hiatus from public life, but now he’s posted a message on his Instagram Stories to Jeremy Clarkson.
Phillip – who sensationally quit ITV’s This Morning following his affair with a younger male colleague – uploaded a video of his beloved dog Alfie watching the third season of Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm.
Reaching out to the former Top Gear star via the clip, Phil tagged Jeremy in the video and wrote of his dog: “Thank goodness we love watching the same shows.. he’s obsessed with Clarkson’s farm!”.
It looked like the pair were watching season three of the farming show, which sees Jeremy continue to try and make a living from his Diddly Squat Farm. In a second video, Alfie can be seen barking at Jeremy’s pigs on TV.
After stepping out with other fellow TV presenter Declan Donnelly recently, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive that Phillip could be planning on making a big TV comeback by going on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! later this year.
Phillip and Dec were seen laughing and joking together, and it seems that the meet-up may not have just been a social call, as a source previously claimed to OK! that Phillip is hoping for a career comeback that could even involve I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
The source said: “Phillip is not the same since being away from TV, it’s what he’s done all his life and all he’s ever wanted to do. There is talk that Ant and Dec are keen to get him on I’m A Celeb.”
On May 20, 2023, Phillip sensationally announced that he was stepping down from This Morning ‘with immediate effect’ after hosting the show for 21 years.
Just six days later, Phillip released another lengthy statement in which he admitted to an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a much-younger male colleague on the show.
Originally, in his post announcing his departure from This Morning, Phillip had promised to return to TV to present the Soap Awards the following month, before it was announced that he would not be.
He also did not return to Dancing on Ice in January 2024, however, his former co-host (both on This Morning and DOI), Holly Willoughby, did return, alongside Stephen Mulhern.
