The Friday, February 20, episode of General Hospital will be a special tribute to Anthony Geary (Luke), who passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 78. ABC first aired an encore presentation of the actor’s final episode of GH on New Year’s Day, then included a “loving montage” of moments from his time on the soap that aired at the end of the January 23 episode. Now, the network has released a promo for the special episode that honors  the daytime icon and his unforgettable character of Luke Spencer.

The promo begins with a shot of a hand lighting a candle as an announcer intones, “This Friday, every memory leads back to Luke Spencer.” Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright), Tracy (Jane Elliot), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Laura (Genie Francis), and Lulu (Alexa Havins) are then shown standing down at the docks holding cups. Candles in white boxes float gently in the water in front of them.

Next, we see Lulu looking fondly at a photo of Luke. As she caresses the image, she whispers, “Hi, Dad.” That is followed by a clip of Sonny and Luke’s first meeting. “Who are you?” Luke asks. “I’m Sonny Corinthos,” Sonny says in response.

Tears streaming down her face, Laura turns her face to the heavens. Her voice thick with emotion, she declares, “Thank you for the love of a lifetime.” The video then dissolves to a shot of Luke and Laura happily dancing in the Triple L Diner back in 1993 when the characters returned to the soap together with their son, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson).

Finally, there’s a shot from Luke’s final episode that originally aired on July 27, 2016, when Geary exited the show to retire and live full-time in Amsterdam with his future husband, Claudio Gama. As we see Luke smiling and taking one last look back before leaving Port Charles forever, we hear his voice say, “It’s time to let go.”

Check out the promo below and be sure to have tissues handy for this very special hour of GH paying tribute to a daytime legend.
