Days of Our Lives sees Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) is acting really weird lately, and we know Stefano DiMera‘s (Joseph Mascolo) spirit is on the loose according to Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk). So, is the Phoenix back and possessing his wicked little granddaughter?
We’re going to dive into all the red flags that Stefano is sort of back from the dead and why Rachel may be the one playing host to her wicked grandpa and wreaking havoc in Salem.
Days of Our Lives:
Now, we all know that Rachel, daughter of Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), has been a little terror for quite a while. She bullied kids at school so badly that nobody wanted to come to her birthday party. And Rachel’s not just bullying kids, it’s adults, too.
That little girl is somebody that fans love to hate because she just does some dark deeds. And I think when they did the recast to Alice Halsey they were getting someone to play even more wicked. And I think she’s doing it well. I liked the old Rachel as well.
This one though, this kid’s darker. And let’s face it, Rachel has targeted more than one woman that got too close to her dad, Brady, because Rachel wants him back with her mom, Kristen, and doesn’t want to take no for an answer, no matter what either of her parents say.
Rachel Black’s Dark Behavior and Threats to Ava Vitali in Days of Our Lives
And you know, if Rachel sending threatening texts to mob princess Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) wasn’t bad enough, then she lured Ava to Armand so she and her grandma Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle) could hold Ava hostage with plans to kill her off so she could never ever be with Brady again.
After that, Ava sped out of Salem. Don’t blame her one bit. We also know that there is a CPS case file open on the kid. Rachel is so rotten that Kristen and Brady will lose custody of her if another thing happens with Rachel that catches the social worker’s eye. And I think if our trusted leaker is right, which I feel like they are, that that could be coming soon unless Kristen finds a way to stop it. And she may.
Unraveling the Mystery: Did Rachel Shoot EJ DiMera and Is Stefano’s Spirit Involved?
And speaking of our leaker, they told me that Rachel’s the one that shot her uncle EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). I leaked that back in February. However, Rachel may not have been herself that night. So, we had that one nugget of a leak and now there’s more info coming.
There’s been some talk that maybe Rachel shot EJ because he kidnapped her grandma, Rachel, and hit her, but I don’t know about that. There may be something more foul of foot. And I wonder if her no Stefano drove Rachel to shoot her uncle EJ point blank and was trying to kill him. Hear me out on this though because there is some method behind this mad suggestion.
First of all, we’re getting all these name drops suddenly of Stefano DiMera that got me thinking. What if Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) is not making a new version of Stefano and what if he’s not even involved? What if it’s the evil spirit of Stefano that’s back and embedded in the brain of wicked little Rachel? And don’t tell me that doesn’t happen.
The devil was possessing people not too long ago. Was that like two years ago? And Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) just got really creeped out and sensed Stefano’s presence when she was talking to EJ DiMera at the mansion. Then this week, he and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) are talking about Susan’s enhanced psychic powers where she’s now talking to the dead rather than just getting psychic flashes from the living.
Signs of Stefano’s Possession: Rachel’s Behavior and Psychic Phenomena in Salem
And as for Rachel, there are some very specific red flags about the kid. First, she does not seem to remember that she shot EJ, if indeed she is the one that did it, and I truly think she is. Second of all, Rachel’s reading Arabian Nights, which is the book Stefano used for mind control in the past with his queen of the night. Third, when Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) hypnotized EJ, he fell right back into his memories.
It wasn’t like the whole night was a blur. He was right there. And he remembered the shooting. He saw the killer, but he told Marlena he couldn’t make out their face. And I suspect it could be EJ’s brain is confused because it was Rachel’s body holding the gun, but Stefano’s spirit in her. So maybe that like blurred her face, you know, in his mind.
The extreme anxiety and nightmares that Rachel’s suffering could be her trying to fight off Stefano’s ghostly invasion of her mind. Then there’s the fact the gun was found outside the mansion in a flower pot, barely hidden. That would be the kind of place a child like Rachel might think to stash a gun because they don’t know how to hide evidence.
That’s why Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) found it right away when he went to the mansion that night. This week, spoilers say Marlena is questioning Rachel. Could be about the Arabian Nights book and why she wants to read it so much because if you remember Marin was mind controlled with it in the past by Stefano.
Rachel’s Courtroom Anxiety and Possible Supernatural Influence in Days of Our Lives
We do know from summer promo spoilers that Rachel is sick to death that her testimony might send Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to prison. She doesn’t want that to happen. And part of that might be guilt. We do know Rachel’s very nervous about the thought of going into the courtroom.
And she told Brady she really doesn’t want to be at the mansion. Rachel might be avoiding the house because of Stefano’s portrait. Or Rachel might be avoiding it because Stefano is in her head and he wants her at the Black townhouse to be close to Marlena who of course, lives there with Brady and Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Rachel right now.
And in fact, that kid might be under that roof for a reason. She could be why Marlena is having those dreadful nightmares. You know, maybe Stefano is creeping out of Rachel’s brain and right into Marlena’s dreams.
Days of Our Lives: Susan Learns the Truth?
So, I do wonder if Susan is going to figure out Stefano’s ghost is wandering the DiMera estate, wandering around in his granddaughter Rachel’s head and getting her to do dastardly things. Let’s face it, stranger things have happened in Salem, but this could be a doozy. Although Stefano adopted Kristen, he heavily favored her. Stefano saw her as a true daughter of his. And while Kristen and Stefano don’t share a blood tie, she is very much her father’s daughter in attitude and wickedness.
And by the same token, Rachel is her mother’s daughter, a true DiMera. Plus, if you believe what they say in the movies, you know, children are more susceptible to the supernatural. Remember that movie The Sixth Sense? I see dead people. So, maybe it’s not just Susan sensing things. Maybe Rachel has some supernatural gifts that are developing like when she predicted her grandpa John Black (Drake Hogestyn) dying before it happened.
Kristen DiMera’s Imprisonment and Protective Sacrifice for Rachel in Salem Storyline
So, you know, I don’t know if she’s getting her own psychic powers. It may be just powers related to Stefano possessing her that are manifesting. Susan’s on the lookout for the person that almost killed her precious EJ DiMera, and I’m curious to see if she gets some eerie readings off of little Rachel.
But that also begs the question, why would Stefano want EJ shot? And it may be because Stefano doesn’t think EJ is living up to his reputation as a DiMera, not following closely enough in his wicked father’s footsteps. There is a behind-the-scenes photo showing Kristen back in Statesville denim.
So, she’s going to be back in prison by the end of the summer, early fall. So, we’re pretty sure she’s going to take the fall for Rachel shooting EJ to protect her daughter, keep her out of the CPS program. And it’s not like they can go down to the Salem cop shop and tell Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu), “Oh, hey, so EJ’s dead father is the one to blame for his shooting.
You can’t arrest a ghost, but you can arrest a scary little tween girl.” And of course, Kristen doesn’t want her daughter in handcuffs. We’ll see how it goes. But all this kind of aligns to the clues that we’ve not only seen so far on Days of Our Lives, but also aligns with info we’ve gotten from our very reliable leakers.
