Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty Replacement Is #1 Streaming Hit

The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s perfect replacement dropped on Prime Video last week, and it has already become a global streaming sensation. Fans of the romance series were treated to a happy ending when Belly and Conrad finally got together in the series finale. Now, the wait is on for The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, which has no release date set.

Prime Video has offered a few possible replacements for its hit teen series, such as Maxton Hall—The World Between Us, whose second season was also a strong performer on the streamer. Now, a new Prime Video original movie based on a romantic drama novel of the same name is leading Prime Video’s charts.

According to FlixPatrolTell Me Softly is now the #1 most-watched movie on Prime Video worldwide. The film was released on the streaming service on December 12. Tell Me Softly focuses on Kamila Hamilton, who, like Belly in The Summer I Turned Pretty, finds herself torn between two brothers, Thiago and Taylor Di Bianco, who re-enter her life after a 7-year absence.

Tell Me Softly Trailer There are a lot of parallels to be drawn between the projects. Besides the love triangle with two brothers, Tells Me Softly also sees one of them being Kamila’s first love, while the other was her childhood best friend, similar to Belly’s dynamic with Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher, respectively. The Di Bianco brothers used to be her neighbors, so they all grew up together, too.

As far as its streaming performance goes, Tell Me Softly ranks #1 on Prime Video in 34 countries. Some of those include Brazil, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, and many more. The Prime Video original movie also ranks highly in most of the countries where it does not lead the charts, with #2 spots in Australia, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, and others, for example.

In the United Kingdom, The Summer I Turned Pretty replacement is the 6th most-watched movie on Prime Video. As for the United States, Tell Me Softly ranks lower than most of the other countries where the film is available, though it does make it into the coveted Top Ten list, landing at #9 at the time of writing.

Like The Summer I Turned PrettyTell Me Softly is based on a book series, with the movie being an adaptation of the first entry in Mercedes Ron’s Tell Me trilogy. The sequel to the Spanish romantic drama, Tell Me in Secret, has already been confirmed to be in development. Tell Me Softly‘s streaming success bodes well for the trilogy’s future.
