“Ransom Canyon Cast Guide: Get to Know the Faces Behind the Drama”

The Netflix contemporary Western series Ransom Canyon features a fantastic ensemble cast led by Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly. Premiering on Netflix on Thursday, April 17, 2025, Ransom Canyon season 1 features 10 episodes, which were all released at the same time on the streaming platform at 3:01 AM ET. Drawing similarities to Taylor Sheridan’s popular neo-Western shows like Landman and YellowstoneRansom Canyon takes place in the small Northern Texas town of the same name, just outside of Lubbock.

Ransom Canyon’s ensemble cast is one of the most promising aspects of the new Netflix Western series, which could become the platform’s next big franchise. Based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Jodi Thomas, which has sparked an 8-book series, Ransom Canyon leans more heavily into the romantic lives and relationships between its characters than Yellowstone does. The Ransom Canyon trailer suggests that there will be plenty of southern charm, heated drama, and even a murder mystery that viewers can sink their teeth into.
