“Ransom Canyon Season 2: Everything We Know About the Return to Texas Hill Country”

Stars Minka Kelly and Josh Duhamel tell T&C about their season 2 wishes.

If you’ve already binge-watched Ransom Canyon and are hoping for news about a season two, there’s good news: Netflix officially confirmed the series is returning.

“I couldn’t be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom Canyon,” creator April Blair said. “Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can’t wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride.”

Even before the renewal, Josh Duhamel hinted that there’s already a writer’s room up and running. “I want it to feel unpredictable, raw, real, and interesting,” he tells T&C about season two. I don’t know what they have planned—they’ve been in the writer’s room now for a bit, so we’ll see.”

Fortunately, there’s plenty of material, should the show get renewed; Ransom Canyon is based on Jodi Thomas’s book of the same name, and there are eight books (plus two prequels!) in the series.

“I would love to explore the growth of Quinn and see what happens when she moves back to New York and chooses herself—decides to not take any more handouts, no more help from anyone, but make her own way and find her own way! Raise her own money and make her own money to save the dance hall or whatever she decides to do in her future,” Minka Kelly tells T&C. “I would love to explore that.”

Filming is set to begin in September in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We’ll update this as we learn more about Ransom Canyon season two.
