Ransom Canyon‘s Garrett Wareing has hinted at the possibility of a huge storyline for the show’s future. Ransom Canyon is a Netflix romance western series based on Jodi Thomas’ books of the same name that focuses on a rancher finding love after losing his wife and son. The show, which premiered in April 2025, also spotlights members of three families who battle to control land.
After viewers saw Ransom Canyon’s first season ending, the show was renewed in June 2025. Since they invested in Ransom Canyon’s cast of characters during the series’ first season, many viewers have been interested in what will happen when the show returns. Now, one of the show’s stars has hinted at a huge potential storyline for season 2.
While speaking to Us Weekly, Garrett Wareing was asked if Lauren Brigman could become romantically involved with Kit Russell in the future. If that happens, it would be very awkward for Wareing’s character, Lucas Russell. The reason that the character would be so uncomfortable is that Kit is Lucas’ brother and Lauren is his romantic interest.
When asked if his character’s onscreen brother and girlfriend could become involved, Wareing didn’t confirm or deny that possibility. However, the Ransom Canyon star’s comments certainly hinted at the strong possibility that Lauren could be enthralled in a love triangle with the fictional brothers, Lucas and Kit.
