Days of Our Lives Chanel DiMera has experienced a tumultuous two years, including a miscarriage, the (temporary) end of her marriage, being framed for her father-in-law’s shooting, and ultimately gaining custody of her adopted son. Now her portrayer Raven Bowens is previewing what’s ahead for the popular character.
At the November 8th, Days of Our Lives 60th anniversary celebration red carpet in Los Angeles, E! correspondent Will Marfuggiinterviewed Bowens about her experience on the long running soap opera.
When Mafuggi asked Bowens what viewers can expect for Chanel, Bowens said her character is “settling into parenthood.” She explained that Chanel and her husband Johnny (Carson Boatman) are adjusting to the new dynamics of their relationship as first-time parents
“We both have jobs and so it’s like balancing our careers and our new baby, that we weren’t expecting to get,” Bowens said.
“So, now we’re just we’re figuring it all out,” she added. Bowens then teased that there’s some interesting twist to come for her character, adding, “Then we’re going to be thrown a major surprise.” She then clarified that it’s actually two surprises. “One is going to be a miracle, the other’s going to be a bit of a tragedy,” she said. “But there’s a lot coming up. Stay tuned.”
The actress earlier this year celebrated her fourth year on the series, celebrating the occasion on Instagram, the actress shared, “4 years ago today, a nervous actress walked into Burbank Studios… that day she cried, kissed a girl Lindsay Arnold, kissed a boy, yelled at a tv icon Jackée Harry & met the guy she’d end up marrying TWICE Carson Boatman (after breaking up with his twin sister of course)… She shot 15 episodes THAT week… thank God Gloria Gifford worked with her on every script & people Gloria Gifford Acting Class ran lines with her 🫣… 4 years have FLOWN by… the nerves are gone (most days), but the love has remained. Very grateful to everyone @dayspeacock for giving me the privilege to do what I love on tv every day for the last 4 years & all the amazing fans who don’t fast forward past my scenes 💙”
