Tuesday, May 20, brings some bittersweet news for FBI: Most Wanted. A new episode airs on CBS, but also marks the end of the first scripted FBI spin-off. Duty calls one last time as some Fugitive Task Force Team members consider some shifts in their personal and professional lives. “The Fugitive Task Force hunts down a rogue government operative group that is planning a domestic terror attack. Also, the team prepares for big changes,” the logline for FBI: Most Wanted Season 6, Episode 22, “The Circle Game,” teases. Throughout the second half of the season, Sheryll (Roxy Sternberg) and Remy (Dylan McDermott) had been considering leaving the team for different pursuits. But first, the team hits the streets after learning that a nefarious organization is planning an attack. Their final hunt takes them to a church where a suspect is holding a priest hostage and threatens to kill them if the team doesn’t back away. Remy does something atypical where he claims that he’s willing to let an innocent man get murdered if that means doing his duty to his country. Away from the case, the images below suggest that Remy has decided to leave the team. After learning that Barnes was also leaving for a less-risky position, Remy did some soul-searching and decided it was time to retire. In a symbolic show of retirement, Remy hangs his cuffs. The images show another atypical moment in the team’s life as they gather in Remy and Abby’s new bar to hold a farewell ceremony for the boss. This time around, there won’t be a chase akin to Grand Theft Auto, because Remy is no longer a federal agent. He can now stay behind the counter and enjoy his retirement.
Why ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ Was Cancelled
The show was a decent performer for CBS, but the network passed on more seasons. “It’s not easy to end shows, and we had a lot of options this year. The schedule is really full, and so we always have to look at all of our shows, look at the aggregate information, the creative of where they are in their life cycle, what the finances look like, what the ratings are, and then we make those tough decisions,” CBS President of Entertainment, Amy Reisenbach said while addressing cancellations at the network. The Season 6 finale of FBI: Most Wanted is also expected to be the series finale, with no plans for the show to move to another network.
