What This Means For Ritter’s Chicago Fire Exit

Chicago Fire Season 14 First-Look: Ritter's Return & Exit

While it’s great to see Ritter’s return, it has already been confirmed that it will be short-lived. It is unconfirmed how many episodes Kyri will appear in, but it was said to be a brief return. These images could very well represent his last act with the rest of the team for the foreseeable future.

Chicago Fire will be able to give Ritter a proper goodbye this way after his exit felt abrupt at the end of season 13. Even if Ritter is only back for the season 14 premiere episode, though, it seems he’ll be leaving the show in heroic fashion, cementing him as a Chicago Fire legend.

Our Take On Ritter’s Chicago Fire Season 14 Return

Ritter’s status as a Chicago Fire fan favorite is already set, and his departure could be one of the biggest since Chief Boden left and was replaced by Pascal. His journey felt incomplete when it was announced he was leaving at the end of Chicago Fire season 13, but the decision to have him return is great for the narrative of the show.

It will certainly feel bittersweet to have Ritter back on the show only for him to leave again, but at least the character is able to get the right send off this time. While no exit is ever set in stone on a show like Chicago Fire, it does seem like this may be the last time audiences get to see Ritter for a while.
