Roseanne Barr has been keeping things raw in recent years. She has been unapologetic about her support for Donald Trump, while she also screamed at Bill Maher on the Club Random podcast. It is a different side of Barr, which all started after she got canceled following a tweet.
Barr felt as though she could have been aided by others during the controversy. Instead, it seemed like things only got worse, as co-stars like Sara Gilbert spoke out against Roseanne.
We’re going to reveal how Barr reacted, and why she decided to call Gilbert. It seems like their conversation was effective, as Gilbert stopped mentioning Roseanne after their conversation.
It was deemed that a tweet ended Roseanne Barr’s career. In past interviews, Barr stated that her fellow cast members could have come to her defense, but instead, certain individuals decided to make things worse. Sara Gilbert was one of those people who went after Barr on various talk shows following the moment.
Speaking alongside Megyn Kelly, Barr revealed that a threatening conversation with Sara Gilbert finally put a stop to her constant public attacks.
Barr revealed, “She would go on her talk show and talk about how shocked she was of my racism every single day. I called her up, and I said, just like this, ‘You better shut your f****** about me. I’m telling you, you better shut your f****** mouth. And then she did. But my voice can be very scary.”
“If it wasn’t for Roseanne, no one would even know who Sara Gilbert is.” Another fan wrote, “Shows exactly the kind of person Sara really is. Roseanne WAS the show. Good for her for speaking out. Stay strong.”
Roseanne Barr Blamed Sara Gilbert For Getting Cancelled
Barr has said that Sara Gilbert stabbed her in the back, and was the major reason why she was canceled due to her repeated attacks.
Barr said, “It was her tweet that canceled the show. And then she tweeted ‘It’s sad when one cast member,’ something about racist, blah, blah. And I was floored. I was just floored. And you know, but she ends up owning my work and Tom Werner becomes her partner in owning my work.”

Barr went on to reveal that her former cast was pushing her to the point of suicide with their constant attacks in the media.
“And you know, they just tried to kill me and I felt like they killed my character and my character,” Barr said, “but I thought they were sending a message over the airwaves because they knew I had mental health issues. I thought they wanted me to kill myself. And all my friends did too. They said, they’re trying to push you to suicide.”
Roseanne Barr has been “canceled” by many for her multiple offensive comments, but her salary may have made it harder for her to get work.
Despite the massive success of the reboot, Barr was out the door and never returned. Although Barr pointed the finger at Gilbert, she also felt as though others didn’t help her cause either.
In recent years, John Goodman has come to Barr’s defense. However, Barr looked defeated discussing John Goodman. Barr felt as though it was too little, too late, and that her former co-star didn’t speak up when it mattered most.
“Big deal. It took him three months to say that after he split my money with the other actors. Why didn’t he say anything in the beginning? Why didn’t he say anything when Sara attacked me?”
Barr concluded that she won’t accept any apology. There’s nothing any one of them can do to make up for what they put me through. There’s nothing they can do to apologize to my mother and my family. And people who love me. Nothing. Sorry. Moving on.”
As for Goodman, the actor revealed he felt sorry for Roseanne.
“Yeah, I felt bad for her. And then, yeah… I just feel terrible about the whole thing. You know, we had a great time. And I love her. She’s just her own person.”
Goodman didn’t close the door on working with Roseanne in the future, but is aware she likely won’t want that.
“I don’t know. If she’d like to… I just don’t know. I miss her. I wish her well.”
There hasn’t been any type of reconciliation since.
