UPDATED, with Galecki appearing in one episode: ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said during TCA last summer that Johnny Galecki was in talks and likely would return to the Roseanne revival and that is now confirmed.
Galecki will return for one episode in a reprisal of his role of David.
Executive producer Whitney Cummings posted on Instagram Thursday night a photo of the actor’s set chair, with his name printed in the same font as the original show logo and @johnnygalecki featured on the front.
Galecki’s return to Roseanne was not certain because of his commitment to CBS’ The Big Bang Theory.
Things are already looking good for the upcoming revival. ABC last month ordered an additional episode, bringing the total to nine.
The reboot will feature the original cast – Roseanne Barr (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Michael Fishman (D.J.) and Lecy Goranson (Becky). Sarah Chalke, who played the character Becky in later seasons, will also appear in another role. It’s slated for a midseason premiere in 2018.
