Sad News: Actress Monica Raymund (Chicago Fire, Hightown) Has Passed Away md20

Well, our biggest fear has officially been confirmed by NBC. There will be no episodes of the One Chicago shows airing across the month of December, and we’re not just talking about new episodes.

NBC has finally released its full schedule for the month of December and, in doing so, it’s confirmed there will be no Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, or Chicago PD encores coming on Wednesday nights. Instead of airing reruns of the One Chicago shows during their current fall break, NBC will continue to use its Wednesday nights to bring viewers special holiday programming.

When the One Chicago shows signed off with their fall finales on November 12, we had our suspicions that Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD might be getting pulled from the lineup entirely for the remainder of the year to make way for holiday programming. However, we hoped that there might be at least one week in the mix when NBC would air One Chicago reruns on Wednesday nights. Sadly, that won’t be the case, as there are no Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD reruns planned for December.

The good news is that fans looking to enjoy a re-watch of their favorite episodes or simply looking to catch up on the seasons before their returns can do so. Although NBC will not be airing any reruns of the One Chicago shows before their returns on January 7, Peacock is home to both past and present seasons of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, or Chicago PD!

So now that we’ve established there will be no One Chicago reruns airing Wednesday nights this month, let’s look at what NBC does have planned for the month of December.

On December 10, NBC will air a special presentation of the 2024 holiday film Red One starring Chris Evans, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, J. K. Simmons, Kiernan Shipka, and Lucy Liu. The following week, on December 17, NBC will air a night of holiday programming including encores of Shrek the Halls, A Motown ChristmasJimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular, and NBC 2025 Year in Review Presented By Access Hollywood.

On Christmas Eve, NBC will air the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life, before closing out the year on New Year’s Eve the following week with an encore of Wicked: One Wonderful Night and the end of the year special, A Toast to 2025!.

NBC will then ring in with new year with the winter premieres of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD on Wednesday, January 7!
