Sandra Bernhard is apologizing to Morgan Fairchild for not being nice to her on the set of Roseanne.
In a new interview, Bernhard admitted she didn’t have a good relationship with her co-star due to her “snotty attitude” and offered an apology.
“It’s one of my biggest regrets that I wasn’t nicer to her,” Bernhard said on Watch What Happens Live. “I was a little dismissive of Morgan, and to this day, would like to say to Morgan, you are incredible to work with, you went there.”
Bernhard had a recurring role on the ABC sitcom as Nancy Bartlett. Fairchild was cast as her bisexual girlfriend Marla and appeared in three episodes of the 1990s sitcom.
While on the Bravo late-night show, Bernhard said she and Fairchild “were the first gay couple on TV, unlike everybody thinks, everybody else was. We were!”
Bernhard continued directing her words to Fairchild saying that she was “fabulous” and “on the right side politically.”
“I owe you an apology,” Bernhard added. “I adore you. And thank you for putting up with my snotty little attitude.”
Host Andy Cohen asked Bernhard if she had reached out to Fairchild but Bernhard said she “didn’t really know how.”
“I think this is the time,” she said. “She will watch [the show], and she’ll hear it. She’s a great lady.
When Cohen asked what was going on with Bernhard not to treat Fairchild nice, she said, “I don’t know.”
“Everybody was kind of not nice to her,” Bernhard said.
