Even though it was “ages ago,” Serena Williams still misses her Lincoln Navigator, which she named Ginger.
“I just loved that vehicle,” she said. “I would always go everywhere with it.”
Williams, widely regarded as one of the best tennis players of all time and perhaps one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, helped unveil the 2025 Navigator to a global audience during an invite-only event in the hills of Carmel on Thursday, Aug. 15. The event took place at an Outlook Drive home valued at nearly $7 million by Zillow and designed by architect Louis Roberts.
Dozens of guests were shuttled in via current model Navigators and Ford Transits from the Carmel Middle School parking lot—despite some confusion on where the actual pickup spot was, the guests made it on time to witness the reveal of the luxury SUV, which was driven out of a garage with Williams in the front passenger seat.
Williams joined Lincoln President Dianne Craig on stage in a conversation that was part-improvised, part-teleprompted, before other Lincoln representatives got on stage to talk specs.
The flagship SUV from Ford’s luxury division, whose CEO Jim Farley was in attendance at the unveiling, features a slightly redesigned 3.5-liter V-6, pumping out 440 horsepower. The interior is billed as a “third space” for people to spend time in, complete with countless technological features and a new 48-inch screen that spans the entire dashboard.
Three new Navigators were on display throughout the property, where caterers passed around shrimp sliders and other hors d’oeuvres to guests.
Pricing was not revealed, but is expected to start around $100,000 when it arrives at dealerships in the spring.
