Chicago Fire fans might have to wait until the new year for new episodes, but it seems Taylor Kinney is about to spread a little holiday cheer via an unexpected new project!
A little holiday magic will soon be in the air as it seems Kinney is teaming up with a pair of sports icons for a new holiday project for Google. As revealed on Instagram, Kinney will be teaming up with WWE star Nikki Garcia and Travis and Jason Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce for The Gift Exchange.
Little is known about the project, but it seems to be a Google Ad campaign of some sort as the social media posts shared by Kinney and Garcia are both labeled as being paid promotion. What makes the promotion confusing is that the ad campaign comes with its own holiday movie poster featuring Kinney, Garcia, and Kelce that looks like it could truly be a Hallmark holiday movie.
Even the captions for both Kinney and Garcia’s posts give holiday movie vibes with Kinney teasing that a little holiday magic is coming and that things are heating up. Meanwhile, Garcia’s post reveals that the campaign will be about a big city personal shopper (Garcia) who meets a hometown hunk (Kinney).
A trailer for the promo will be released sometime this week, giving us a look at the ad campaign which will likely be rolling out in the weeks ahead on social media and via commercials. If the poster is any indication, it seems that the promo will be built around showcasing Google’s shopping tools for the holiday season.
Honestly, we love seeing Kinney channeling his Hallmark holiday movie star, though we wish this was going to be an actual holiday movie! The concept for the Google campaign sounds like such a fun holiday movie and we’d love to see Kinney go full rom-com as a lead in a holiday movie. We’ve seen others within the One Chicago franchise lead a Hallmark movie including Chicago Med’s Jessy Schram, who will appear in another Hallmark holiday movie this year!
Perhaps we’ll get lucky and the Google campaign will actually include a short film, something that would make sense given there will be a trailer coming. A short film would be such a fun holiday treat for Chicago Fire fans and we want more than just a few clips of Kinney’s Hallmark-style leading man!
All we know is that we can’t wait to see what’s to come and hope that perhaps this could lead Kinney to doing a proper holiday movie!
