Simon Cowell has candidly admitted that his past experiences with Botox and fillers went a bit too far, leading him to a point where he felt he looked “like something out of a horror film.” During the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the American Idol judge shared his decision to stop using injectables, stating, “I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognize it as me.” He recounted how the drastic change in his appearance even sent his 8-year-old son, Eric, into “hysterics,” prompting a turning point for Cowell.
He declared, “Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.” Cowell noted that he had fallen into the trend of using fillers during a time when many others were doing the same.
Now, he is focusing on healthier lifestyle choices, emphasizing nutritious eating and hydration instead of cosmetic procedures. This shift has paid off, as Cowell has lost 42 pounds and is preparing to marry his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Silverman.
Cowell’s newfound perspective on health also comes in the wake of two serious e-bike accidents, the latest occurring in February 2022, which resulted in a hospital visit. This incident followed a previous crash in Los Angeles that had left him with a broken back. Reflecting on these experiences, Cowell expressed a surprising sense of gratitude: “I’m kind of happy it happened, weirdly. It’s like it was meant to be.”
These challenges have also led him to explore talk therapy for the first time, particularly after feeling low and struggling to explain his situation to Eric. Cowell’s journey highlights a significant transformation in both his physical health and mental well-being
