Actors Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey are ready to pull all stops to reprise their roles in Bridgerton season 4. Their characters Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton respectively,were the leads of the second season of the Netflix show.
Speaking on the probability of Kate and Anthony returning in the next installment, Simone spoke during the press meeting at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival on June 15. The 29-year-old actor said, “I really hope so… Both Johnny and I, we adore our characters, Kate and Anthony, so much and their relationship and what they mean for the show.” She further added, “I think we’ll do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.”
Kate and Anthony were the main couple in season two. They even appeared in the third season. According to the ongoing storyline, the duo, now married, has moved to Kate’s hometown in India, to welcome their first child.
In season 3, we saw Anthony’s sisters Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie) and Francesca Bridgerton (played by Hannah Dodd) are moving out of the show’s central location, London. Now, speculations are on as to which Bridgerton sibling will take the show forward in its fourth season.
As per all Julia Quinn novels, every new season of Bridgerton follows the love story and life of a differet member of the family. Fans are still awaiting for an official announcement from the makers about what lies ahead in the period-romance drama.
Showrunner Jess Brownell stated that season 4 will arrive after two years. She recently said that the team was trying to shorten the time of wait, though it will take sometime to produce the next season.
Bridgerton is Shondaland’s first scripted show for Netflix. The romance drama is set in early 1800s in an alternative London Regency era.
