‘So Help Me Todd’ On CBS Ranks As Best Series Premiere So Far This Season; ‘Ghosts’ Up 11% Over Last Year

CBS had a strong Thursday night lineup with impressive viewership numbers. *Young Sheldon* led the evening as broadcast primetime’s most-watched show, attracting 6.61 million viewers. Meanwhile, the sophomore season premiere of *Ghosts* won its time slot with 6.15 million viewers, an 11% increase from last year’s October 7 premiere, which drew 5.5 million viewers, according to Nielsen Live+Same Day ratings.
The solid performances of these comedies helped boost the debut of the new drama *So Help Me Todd*, starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin. The show, created by Scott Prendergast and following a private investigator who works for his attorney mother, secured 4.69 million viewers, making it the top series premiere across all networks this season.
However, fewer viewers stuck around for the return of Marg Helgenberger in *CSI: Vegas*, which pulled in 3.09 million viewers. Despite this, CBS still claimed the top spot for the night with an average of 4.72 million viewers.
In streaming, CBS also saw gains. *Young Sheldon* viewership rose by 8% on Paramount+ and CBS.com/CBS app, while *Ghosts* increased by 33% compared to last year. *So Help Me Todd* also saw a 53% rise compared to the performance of *Bull* last year.
