Sopranos Actor Dominic Chianese Bids Emotional Goodbye to Daughter Sarah, 58

Dominic Chianese, renowned for his role in The Sopranos, is mourning the loss of his daughter, Sarah Francesca Chianese, who passed away at 58 after a courageous fight against cancer.

She was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumor derived from glial cells, more specifically astrocytes. In a touching eulogy, her mother acknowledged that the diagnosis “was never going to be survivable.”
Despite this, she noted that Sarah “knew that from the onset, and conducted herself with an astounding measure of grace and kindness that persisted through her final months.” A fan page, upon request from the family, confirmed her passing, stating she died on Tuesday in the presence of her loved ones.

“Sarah Francesca Chianese, daughter of Dominic Chianese, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15th,” a fan page announced on behalf of the family. “She fought bravely against glioblastoma and was only 58 years old. Her father remained by her side until the very end.”

Her sister Rebecca expressed: “Sarah was a bright light in this world, she wanted everyone to live their happiest life and smile when they think of her.”

The fan page also shared a collection of photographs commemorating Sarah’s life, including tender moments with her father Dominic. One snapshot shows them together at a dinner event, while another captures them in a group picture.

Dominic appeared to acknowledge the news shared by a fanpage, simply commenting, “thank you.” He posted a picture of his daughter on his Instagram story, accompanied by Rufus’ song Sweet Thing. However, he did not make any direct public post or comment on the matter.

Sarah’s heartfelt eulogy read, “It’s important for the reader to understand that if you knew her-no matter how briefly-and she pulled you into her life, it’s because she wanted you there. You were loved by this woman. You were cherished. She was a genuine human being. She only wanted your success-in every aspect: family, career, spiritual, emotional. She valued you greatly. You were appreciated.”

Sopranos actor David Proval expressed his condolences on the post, writing, “Dom my family’s heart is with you. We love you my friend when she rest and have peace love David and Cheryl and Zoe.”

Sarah’s brother, Dominic Jr. , shared his own sorrow over the loss with People, praising her kindness as “one of the greatest human attributes.”

He added that Sarah “knew how to throw a party because she had a catering business. I just think that that’s such a great quality, if somebody knows how to throw a party.”

In her eulogy, a narration of a unique farewell was shared – one last bash, a celebration of life for Sarah before she passed in October. Her mother penned, “Sarah’s celebration of life party remains one of the single best days of my life. Like so many things, my mother was entirely in the right. Among countless instances of amicable disagreement-or in this case, indifference on my part-only after the fact comes my final admission: she knew what she was doing.”
