The possibility of Station 19 cameos in Grey’s Anatomy season 21 gets addressed by showrunner Meg Marinis. Even though the ABC firefighter drama signed off with its series finale earlier this year, the upcoming episodes of the hospital soap will include a major character from the spinoff. Jason George will continue the role of Dr. Ben Warren, joining Grey’s Anatomy season 21 as a series regular. It has sparked speculation about whether other Station 19 cast members might be able to make an appearance.
Ahead of the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy season 21, which returns Thursday, September 26 at 10 PM ET on ABC, the latest update from TVLine provides some insight into whether Carina DeLuca Bishop (Stefania Spampinato) and Taryn Helm (Jaicy Elliot) might appear. Marinis, an executive producer who took over as showrunner as of season 20, seemingly indicated that Carina could make an appearance. Read the showrunner’s comments below:

Maya Is No Stranger To Grey’s Either
The Station 19 series finale, “One Last Time,” features the main team envisioning what life could be like after their last rescue mission. Carina pictures a big happy family with her wife Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre), with at least four children. Carina last appeared in Grey’s Anatomy season 20 and was even a recurring presence on the show at one point. As for Savre, though she’s appeared less frequently, she made six appearances as Maya on the main hospital show.
But even if those cameos don’t happen this year, it sounds like the medical soap’s latest showrunner is appreciative of keeping the connection with the firefighter spinoff alive.
Savre booked a recurring role on the NBC crime drama Found, which is returning for season 2 on October 3. The character details are kept under wraps, though her part has been teased as being important. Still, particularly with the presence of Dr. Ben Warren on Grey’s once again, as he is very close with both Maya and Carina, there’s no reason the couple couldn’t pop up for a surprise scene that could even be kept as a surprise.
It’s worth noting, however, that Grey’s Anatomy season 21 will see several character returns and cast changes, separate and apart from the Station 19 alums. But even if those cameos don’t happen this year, it sounds like the medical soap’s latest showrunner is appreciative of keeping the connection with the firefighter spinoff alive.
