Station 19 Needs to Deliver That Marina Baby, Right?

Spoiler warning: This article contains spoilers for the April 6 episode of Station 19, titled “It’s All Gonna Break.” If you’re not caught up, proceed with caution!

Maya Bishop and Carina DeLuca have faced numerous challenges throughout their relationship. After deciding to have a baby and choosing Jack Gibson as the biological father, fans were eagerly anticipating their journey toward parenthood. However, showrunner Krista Vernoff had other plans, keeping viewers on edge as Season 6 focused more on their survival and marriage stability rather than pregnancy. Following Carina’s recent mission at a fake medical clinic, it feels downright cruel not to give fans a DeLuca-Bishop baby at this pointStation 19 Cameos In Grey's Anatomy Season 21 Addressed By Showrunner

In the latest episode, Carina (Stefania Spampinato) and Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tried to expose a fraudulent women’s clinic by pretending Carina was pregnant. With a vial of a pregnant woman’s urine in hand, Carina knew the test would yield a positive result, yet when it did, she was overcome with emotion, telling Bailey, “My first positive pregnancy test and it isn’t real.”

Earlier this season, Carina’s dreams of motherhood were sidelined after Maya’s accident, leading her to move out while Maya was under a 72-hour hold for her safety. Thankfully, Maya (Danielle Savre) has been making progress, attending therapy and even attempting to reconnect through gestures like baking lasagna—though that particular dish resulted in food poisoning! The episode marked a significant turn for the couple, ending with Carina’s heartfelt visit to Maya at the firehouse, where they discussed slowly working on their relationship again. And to sweeten the moment, Maya asked Carina out on a date! Meanwhile, other relationships in the fire station are facing turbulence, especially with Theo and Vic clashing on his first day as captain, and Robert and Natasha navigating their own challenges. Plus, Travis’s unexpected romance with his campaign manager, Eli, adds even more drama to the mix.

With all that Maya and Carina have endured, it’s hard to believe Station 19 would tease us with a fake positive pregnancy test and not follow it up with the real thing. Right?
